Encounter celebration

Encounter Celebration is a non-profit organisation, established in 2013 to promote and celebrate the encounter between Nicolas Baudin and Matthew Flinders in April 1802. The Mayor of Victor Harbor, Mr Graham Philp, chairs the current committee.

Annual celebrations take place in April to commemorate the actual dates of the encounter. There are additional activities planned each year as a lead up to the main event. Check the website for details:

"Encounter Celebrations is in the running for a $30,000 grant to ensure our continued success. All we need for people is to go to the web site and vote for Encounter Celebrations. There is no cost and the web site is a State Government web site and so it is safe.

We have until 7th August 2017.
