Friday 8 April


4.30pm – 5.00pm: Warland reserve, Victor Harbor.


6.30pm for 7pm start: Eat at Whalers, 121 Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay. The focus for the evening will be on Baudin’s voyage to Australia with a presentation by Professors Jean Fornasiero and John West-Sooby from the University of Adelaide, co-authors of Encountering Terra Australis: The Australian Voyages of Nicolas Baudin and Matthew Flinders and French Designs on Colonial New South Wales.

There will be a choice of Chicken and Beef French style dishes (mains) at $35 per person. Alcohol and dessert will be extra and payable to Eat at Whalers.

Dinner will be limited to 56 diners - check the Encounter Celebration website for details of how to book a little closer to the time.

Saturday 9 April


7.30am: (TBC): Warland Reserve, Victor Harbor.


7.45am: Hotel Victor, 1 Albert Place, Victor Harbor.


9.00am-5.00pm: All day at the Soldiers Memorial Reserve (opposite Hotel Victor).

The program will be available shortly on the Encounter Celebration website. It will include French and English themed activities – theatre, music, petanque etc. along with French and English stalls.

The Encounter Celebration committee is currently seeking expressions of interest from people wishing to hire a stall at the festival. Contact the committee secretary for more details.

Sunday 10 April


11:00am: Depart Victor Harbor on the Cockle Train

11:30am: Arrive at Goolwa Wharf

12:30pm: Depart on the PS Oscar W (1 hour cruise)

1:30pm – 2:45pm: Lunch in Goolwa (own expense)

2:45pm: Depart Goolwa on the Cockle Train

3:15pm: Arrive in Victor Harbor

3:30pm: Depart to Granite Island on the Horse Drawn Tram

4:00pm: Return to the mainland on the Horse Drawn Tram

Cost: Adult: $ 58.00, Concession: $ 49.50 (Seniors & Pensioners), Child (4-15 yrs) $ 30.00 Family: $ 142.00 (2 Adults + 2 Children). How to book details will be made available shortly on the Encounter Celebration website.

The Fleurieu Heritage Experience is limited to 45 passengers as this is all the Oscar W can take. If there is a high demand for bookings, a second itinerary may be organised starting at Goolwa.

Each passenger will receive a souvenir ticket to keep as a memento of his or her journey.
